Meh.
So, school started for me a few weeks ago, so my random splurge of activity is kind of over.
I mean..
I HAVE ACTUAL HOMEWORK THIS YEAR.
Considering on how up until this point in my life I've rarely had homework, it's a bizarre thing going home and doing extra school for two hours. I've had a little bit of time to draw, but not nearly as much as summer. I still hope I can complete my sketchbook. Oh well, school is more important, and I'm doing some extra-curricular activites this year too. I'd rather be doing those than drawing, I mean, I can always find spare time to draw.

for extra tips:
Try coloring in one direction and make it consistent. Keep on coloring that one spot until it is completely filled. Also blend it a little by overlaying it with a white color pencil
references are great!
keep on drawing! try new styles; you never know what new things await you. Never give up, as corny as it sounds.
